LET ME EXPLAIN

Sensin Experiences is, in it's core, a concept I try to use in every game or app I work on: experiences that matter and evoke sensations in a personal level.
 

I'm Ivan Motta, born in Rio living in Portugal, father of 3. Graduated as architect and urban planner back in 2007, but always did a lot more: music, DJing, 3D, web design, scenography, stand-up comedy... And since 2013 I'm focusing on game development.

Here I try to highlight the main games, architectural visualizations, virtual and augmented reality apps I've worked on (some of them are under NDA, so here are just the publicly available).

Head of Game Development on Arcadia, a VR/XR sports game. Working mainly on home court version (available on Quest App Lab). Responsible for 99% of the graphics, 3D models, avatars, shaders and VFX. Also coded some systems like the mixed reality portal, music player, environmental effects, avatars IK system and more. Started to work on the Apple Vision Pro version of the game before the headset launch.

Lead Game Developer on REK, a VR/XR fitness game with boxing and rhythm games inspiration, created by Cix Liv. Worked on most of the game systems, characters animations and effects, environment planning and building, graphics, and basically all the game.

Launch title for PSVR2, also on PC. Joined the development in the middle as technical artist and level designer. Did some vfx, like the hook and black hole, most of the lighting on the beach and space level, overall optimizations and shaders, and the initial iterations on the chinese / temple level as 3d artist and level designer. Working for VR Monkey.

Technical art for the Android game Zoolana. Single handedly made all the shaders, effects, UI, 3d models integrations for all the maps (city mode, world tribes navigation, and battle scene). Working for Starloop Studios / Magic Media.

Legally Addicted is a dungeon-crawler-ish action game, where your are trapped in a procedurally generated office, crazy to go out for a smoke. No health bar or timer, but anxiety levels and unemployment meter. Finalist at BIG Festival 2018, BIG Starter - Games of Impact category. Released in 2020 on itch.io and GameJolt.

Futuristic sports game with 4x4 matches, zero gravity, magnetic robots and 360 degrees arenas. After the world is gone to ashes, the only sport allowed by emperor Grump The Third is virtual, expensive, and played on space stations.

Together with ID21, after Heat restaurant project was completed and the owner wasn't sure, we developed an experience with sounds and interactions for the HTC Vive. He couldn't stop playing with it, and the project was approved!

AR app as proof of concept for L'Oréal Brasil merchandising team, with virtual catalog of available furniture that can be viewed on store, rotated and animated. Runs on Androids and is easy to update and deploy for the remote sales teams.

Real time animations in Unreal Engine 4 of  VIP areas for FIFA's Russia World Cup 2018. Took part in concept, modelling and UE4 animations. All videos were part of Match/Fifa sales material.

Working for Venturion/Tapps VR as Environment Artist, made concept images, videos and the implementation of a Virtual Reality app for a museum experience available for the general public at Oi Futuro Flamengo (Rio).

Collection of past works of architecture and 3D, mainly scenography and events. Dating back from 2007 to 2020, I selected projects I created entirely, from creation to modeling, rendering and texturing. Some of them were done in just 2 or 3 days, the market was insane back in those days.
